Akzo Nobel rose after the Dutch paints giant posted first-quarter adjusted operating income ahead of analyst estimates and the company said it expects lower raw material costs in the second half.
Adjusted operating income reached 230 million euros ($250 million) in the first quarter, exceeding the estimate of 212 million euros in a Bloomberg survey. Revenue rose about 12% in the quarter, in line with analyst expectations.
